Pastor Carlos D. Bounds
Rev. Carlos D. Bounds is a native of Oaksville, Maryland. He was educated in the Public School System of Somerset County and graduated from Washington High School in Princess Anne, Maryland. Rev. Bounds believes God highly favored him to be raised by some wonderful people in his life such as the late William and Ethel Stewart grandparents, George and Peggy Stewart, Father and Step-mother, and the late William Leon Bright, and Clara Mae Bounds, Step-father, and Mother.
Rev. Bounds continued his education at the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore in
Princess Anne, Maryland where he received a Bachelor's of General Studies with a concentration in Physical Education. Rev. Bounds later studied at Palmer Theological Seminary (formerly Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary), in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he earned his Master of Divinity Degree.
Rev. Bounds accepted Christ in October of 1993 at Bethel AME Church in Lansdowne, PA under the pastorate of Rev. Carrie Nobles. In May 1995, he answered the call by God into the Gospel Ministry of Jesus Christ and was licensed to preach by the late Presiding Elder Rev. Herman Alton Rhodes. Rev. Bounds was ordained an Itinerant Deacon by Bishop Philip Robert Cousin on May 22, 1999. On May 20, 2006, he was ordained an Itinerant Elder by Bishop Richard Franklin Norris, Sr. Rev. Bounds served at Ward AME Church in Philadelphia which is now Ward Emmanuel AME Church, PA under the spiritual and dynamic leadership of Rev. Terrance C. Hensford. After serving six months at Ward Emmanuel, the late Bishop Kenneth Donald Ming appointed Rev. Bounds to serve as pastor at St. Paul AME Church in Malvern, PA for six wonderful years. On June 16th, 2007, Rev. Bounds was appointed to Bethel AME Church, Bryn Mawr, PA by Bishop Norris where he served for over 10 years. on June 17th, 2017 Rev. Bounds was appointed to Mt. Zion AME Church of Norristown, Pa by Bishop Gregory G.M. Ingram. In that same year, Rev. Bounds was also appointed to serve as the Dean of the Ministerial Institute of the Philadelphia Annual Conference where he also serves as an instructor. Rev. Bounds has also served as the President of the Main Line Black Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance. Rev. Bounds is a certified chaplain and is called upon to serve whenever needed. He believes that his ministry is to empower the people of God to live a life, according to His ways through the power of the Holy Spirit through preaching and teaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Rev. Bounds is married to the former Amy Green, his wife of 22 years. They have two daughters, India Noel and Zoë Claudia.
